My Backpack

This is my backpack. I walk through New York every day for work with it on. Penn Station. The city streets. Grand Central. Nine spots on the bag. Your site rides with me — in front of people who are actually in New York.

The walk

Every workday I put this backpack on. I come through Penn Station: trains, tunnels, the concourse, commuters at eye level with the front of the bag and the straps. Then I walk the city streets — sidewalks, avenues, crosswalks, waiting at lights. Grand Central too: the main concourse, the ramps, the trains. Same backpack. Same walk to work. Every day.
